The new year is the perfect time to pick up some good habits. Make a commitment to poetry! This is message from the folks over at Allpoetry.com
- Decide to write something short every morning at breakfast. Or every evening before bed – our brains work differently at both of these times, and you’ll be surprised how much it can enliven your whole day.
- Consider a paid membership to allpoetry – once you’ve paid for something, you take it more seriously.
- Take one of our free courses to learn about poetic techniques, or at coursera/itunes/etc.
- Start a poetry journal, and keep it with you as you go through your day. Write down anything that strikes you as poem-worthy – you’ll be amazed how useful these nuggets are later during a writing session.
